Turkish engineering firm Dolsar Engineering has secured a contract to manage and supervise the construction of the Upper Pskem hydropower plant in Uzbekistan, state hydropower operator Uzbekhydroenergo announced through its project management division. Under the agreement, the company will act as the project management consultant, providing independent technical oversight and monitoring construction schedules.
Dolsar was awarded the contract following an international tender. As part of its supervisory duties, the Turkish firm will verify that civil works on site comply with approved design documentation, safety standards, and project expenditure plans.
The Upper Pskem plant is located on the Pskem River in a mountainous section of northeastern Uzbekistan. The project forms part of the government’s long-term program to expand renewable energy generation and tap the country’s hydro potential under presidential directives prioritizing clean energy infrastructure.
In addition to inspection work, the consultant will oversee procurement timelines and operational scheduling. These tasks are intended to maintain regular financing flows and coordinate equipment deliveries, reducing the risk of machinery downtime during the construction phase.
